Accessibility Statement for CanOSS

Last Updated: June 23, 2025

At the Canada Obstetrics Survey System (CanOSS), we are committed to ensuring our digital platforms are accessible to all users, including persons with disabilities, in alignment with the Accessible Canada Act (ACA) and provincial accessibility laws, such as the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). We strive to provide an inclusive online experience that supports full and equal participation for everyone.

Our Commitment to Accessibility

CanOSS is dedicated to identifying, removing, and preventing accessibility barriers in our website, www.canoss.ca, and its content. We aim to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, as adopted by Accessibility Standards Canada and referenced in the European standard EN 301 549. Our ongoing efforts include:

  • Designing and testing our website to ensure compatibility with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard navigation.

  • Providing text alternatives for non-text content, such as images, to support users with visual impairments.

  • Ensuring sufficient color contrast and clear navigation for enhanced usability.

  • Regularly auditing and updating our website to maintain accessibility compliance.

Compliance Status

We are actively working toward full compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. While many areas of www.canoss.ca meet these requirements, we acknowledge that some content or features may still present barriers. We are committed to addressing these issues promptly and welcome feedback to improve our accessibility.

Feedback Process

We value your input to help us enhance the accessibility of our website. If you encounter any accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us through one of the following methods:

  • Email: accessibility@canoss.ca

  • Phone: 1-800-555-1234 (toll-free, TTY available)

  • Mail: CanOSS Accessibility Office, 123 Health Research Lane, Toronto, ON M5V 1A1

We aim to respond to all feedback within five business days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Accessibility Commissioner under the Accessible Canada Act or contact provincial accessibility authorities, such as the AODA Compliance Office in Ontario.

Accessibility Features

To support diverse user needs, www.canoss.ca includes the following accessibility features:

  • Keyboard-navigable menus and forms for users who cannot use a mouse.

  • Alt text for images to support screen reader compatibility.

  • Adjustable text sizes through browser settings.

Ongoing Efforts

CanOSS is committed to continuous improvement in accessibility. Our team conducts regular accessibility audits using automated tools and manual testing, engages with accessibility consultants, and trains staff on inclusive design practices.
